Given:
Height of stone 3'
Length of shadow 4.5'

Pyth. Ther. 3 sq + 4.5 sq = c sq
c = 5.41

Tan of angle is equal to 4.5 / 3
angle equals 56.3 degrees.
This is the angle of the suns beam in relationship to the 3' tall stone.
The answers of 33.7 degrees is the relationship of the suns beam to the ground.
