Yes, some of them do. Fat Jon (aka - Fat Jon The Ample Soul Physician; piano/keyboards), The Roots (drums, guitar, bass guitar, keyboards), Nicolay (keys, guitars, bass, drums), Jay Dee (aka - J Dilla, who played 20 instruments), R.I.P., and many others have all played their own instruments at one time or another.
And if you've never heard of these people (and you probably haven't), that's because for the most part, they're all underground hip hop artists.

they sometimes do to perform live. But I doubt many of the rappers know any actual instruments other than what you mentioned. This is an example why I say that rap and hiphopsters dont have any real talent. They basically just say "Nyah Nyah, Ive got money, yooouu dont, cuz im a rapper, and yoooouu arent." At least the rap from the last couple of years.

sometimes, i think the only instance i ever saw of rappers using instruments, is with the group the roots, but man can you imagine how boring it must be playing the same two notes for three minutes straight!

Of course they don't, they're not musicians. All that rubbish is electronically created so that talentless dimbo's can prance about in front of gullible audiences and make lots of money out of them . Most are produced by a computer in about 20 minutes. My advice. Don't buy it.
