A human being.

As a baby the human walks on all fours. The young age is considered as morning of ones life.

As a young man the human walks on two legs. This is the active time or the day time of ones life.

As a very old man human walks on two legs and a stick therefore he walks on 3 legs. This is the night time of ones life.

A person! . . . Well the "official" answer is Man, but that just sounds too one sided to me. Girls can crawl, walk, and hobble too darnit!

I love the sphinx riddle!
