you can use computers for online quizzes.

you can do a sort of a poll using microsoft powerpoint with Infra-red remotes for students to answers. they are specifically made for academic purposes too.

you can use pc and projector for displaying interactive slides

there are also softwares which help with the course. for eg. math softwares.

These are just a ways of using technology in the classroom.

The best and most overlooked way to improve classroom education of any kind is to introduce the use of board games. I have taught for over ten years all over the world, and only when I use board games do students voluntarily insist on extending their classes for two, three, even four hours. Not only that, but they then show the most rapid improvement.

Give it a try and you will be amazed. At least you will be helping to break the monopoly that the big textbook publishers have over the education industry.

First: a new curriculum that empowers the students to learn more.

Second: define new educational resources. Electronic libraries, specialized dictionaries, sites that contain pools of course related information.

Third: Organize a web services department to manage a secure website containing.

1. Weekly class schedules.
2. Secure course-ware sites. (Previous lessons in pdf or power point.)
3. Additional related resources for student lectures.
4. Instructor contact information. (Course specific)

The thing to remember is that communication and learning is about people, not technology.

Give the students laptops. In Staten Island here in New York, my teacher told me that the students got their own "computer" to take home. They save their class's info on this memory disk or something. The disk can save up to a year's worth of notes from all classes.
