Yes that is one of our freedoms - "bare arms". Under Sharia law, the women at least would have to cover them down to their wrists.

Seriously, you may be confusing the constitution with the declaration of independence. The declaration says the people have the right to form a new government when the old government violates the social contract. The US constitution provides for elections to change the government, and three separate divisions (executive, legislative and judicial) to handle certain areas such as enforcing, making and interpreting the law. Powers are also reserved for the states. It is this power sharing basically that is supposed to check abuses, excesses and potential tyranny. Part of the idea is to obviate the need for another revolution.

Actually, you're refering to 2 different documents.

The Second Amendment is in part of the Constitution, and it guarantees the right to "bear" arms, not "bare" arms (as in bare-naked).

Overthrowing a corrupt government is a theme that was highlighted by Nicolas Cage in the movie "National Treasure" and is from the Declaration of Independence, and is actually in at least two parts of the Declaration:

"When, in the Course of human Events, it becomes necessary for one People to dissolve the Political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume, among the Powers of the Earth, the separate and equal Station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent Respect to the Opinions of Mankind requires that they should declare the Causes which impel them to the Separation."

and

"that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these Ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government"

So, really the question becomes - do you think that the constitutional rights of a people are destroyed because a government chooses to stockpile weapons?

One could argue (and I would be one of those) that by stockpiling weapons, the government - through the military - is protecting us, not destroying us.

If you don't agree with the military stockpiling weapons, perhaps you should get involved with the governmental process and work through the system to get the military to no longer stockpile the weapons.

That would be much more realistic, and less problematic, than trying to overthrow the government because you don't think the military should be stockpiling weapons. Weapons, by the way, that they'd use to stop you from overthrowing the government.

It's kind of ironic - isn't it?

Yes, the Constitution gives the People the right to bear arms and severely limits the powers of the Government. The Declaration of Independence declares that overthrowing a corrupt government is the right of all people.

You know what? I have read a good deal of your questions in your Q&A section on your profile.

If I had to give an honest opinion about you, I would say that someone should look into who you are and come arrest you as soon as possible. You seem to me to be one of the worst kind of conspiracy theorists who talks as if you actually plan on acting in regards to your delusions.

A majority of recent posts by you are nothing more than government bashing and candid threats of violence towards the US. May I ask you why you are even living here? If you hate the USA so much, why don't you go live in some third world where you don't have to worry about a responsible government? You sure talk a lot of smack.

As to your question this time, which I believe is directly related to my answer in your Wako question, you think it is a good idea to let anyone who wants to own a giant stockpile of fully automatic weapons just have them? Do you honestly think if they were good, decent americans, they would have a need for all those weapons?

Do you think if they were not, or at least if David Koresh was not planning on ending it the way it ended, they would have built so many barracades outside and inside the compound?

Why don't you try talking from facts instead of from your delusions? Because, that, my dear, is exactly what they are. Nothing you say has any basis whatsoever.

NO!!!! We have the right to bear arms! I think this is a very important aspect to our government and rights, besides I have always wanted to have hairy arms with claws on the end, so I can swipe salmon out of rivers in Alaska!

Actually, we have the right to bear arms and from militias. We do have the ability to overthrow corruption in our government, but it is easier and more peaceful to simply vote. If you don't like the Government, get active in politics, help a good person in their canidacy, get them elected and they will fight the good fight!

From the Delcaration of Independence: "That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government,"

The 2nd Amendment: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Seems pretty obvious to me that the Founding Fathers intended us to keep guns so that we could overthrow a corrupt government.

The declaration states the overthrow of the government is allowed by vote. Hence the terms placed on politicians.

It does not state we have the right to storm the capitol with arms. Unless of course they decide not to step down....then let the fun begin

Yes and no. Our Constitution guarantees and recognizes certain inalienable rights. Among those rights is the right to throw off the chains of oppressive government. The 2nd amendment merely provides the means to do so, but it doesn't clearly outline that purpose.

If the government that you call corrupt is still in office,it's because the majority doesn't agree with you.
Then you are a assasin if you choose to shoot the president.
