Or how about this one: Will Zimbabwe ever have a non-black president? Or, will Pakistan ever have a non-Pakistani president? Or all they all racists?

I ask this because another questioner presumes that because in the few countries in the world where whites are not a minority, they tend to have white leaders, they must be racist.

But let's be fair here. Let's apply this standard everywhere. If it is wrong for Americans, who are majority white, for now, to have white leaders, then why is there no great outcry that China has never had a non-Chinese leader? Why are we the only ones expected to yield in the name of tolerance and anti-racism, but when we ask the same of others, it is called imperialism? Isn't that a fair question?

The difference is that yours is a multi-cultural society or maybe you'd say a melting pot. America is supposed to be the land of opportunity regardless of whether you are black, white or Muslim. I would like to think you vote for politicians according to their policies and their integrity, not according to their skin and second language. What is racist is when, for example, a black person votes for a black candidate just because he's black and not because of what he stands for (or against). And that would be just as true in Zimbabwe as in the US, UK, or Kazamawharrastan.

Your posting is not logical. And it isn't a fair question.

In the few countries where whites are not a minority, they tend to have white leaders. It is not whether racist or not.
How about the countries where whites are the majority, they tend to have non-white leaders? Why don't you mention like this?
But I don't think either way is racist.

For example, if you wanna be a president in US, probably, the person must be born in US and is more than 35 years old.
It is same in Japan. The person must be in Japanese national. That's all.(to be diet member they has to be certain age though)
Actually more than 98% of population is Japanese, but there are several ex-foreign members.
This guy is one of them. He is ex-Finn (Finland)

And you should know Japan is not taking presidential system like US, it is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system, like UK and Canada. Election system is different as well.

As for China, their system is totally different.
75% of population is Han race, and probably more than 90% ppl (including minorities) accepts (had to follow) Han race's culture and language. It is called commonly Chinese culture.
And till 100 years before, during Qin dynasty, the person in the paramount authority was NOT Han race. The long line of emperors were from only Manchuria (Minority group).
Today the China still keeps communism.

Today Asia countries notice that not all western system doesn't work well in Asia.
Even in US, there still many racial discrimination exsits. The world knows it.
And Asia won't repeat the same failures which western or immigrant nations have experienced.
See, the riot in France? the racial conflicts in London? Finally PM Tony Blair announced that "rule have changed!" and all immigrants has to follow the UK rule, said Blair.

It is not that simple topic and you can't reach the conclusion easily.
I know there are many anti-immigrant organizations in Europe too.
Each nation can set their own rules. No other nation can judge with their sense of value.
Even what US had done for Iraq and Afgan, I think Bush should started the war after UN resolution.
If he say he stopped the discrimination and persecution done by Hussein, why Bush didn't attack North Korea? there are tons of persecution even today.
(unfortunately there are no oil in the Korea)

I do not know what the election laws in Japan state, but I would imagine they are the same as ours when it comes to the Presidency, You have to be a Natural born citizen of the country to become President, not just a US Citizen, you have to be born here!
