I am in love with an angry man & he throws fits over just about anything which is very immature for a 25 year old. I realize this & I have accepted this & yes I do know he most likely will not change or grow out of this childish pattern.

Something scared me yesterday. I haven't noticed this before, when we came home and settled in the cat was meowing. Although she already ate a few hours earlier, I told him to give her a treat or two. She came kind of close to him and when he moved she ran toward me. I grabbed her and told him "shes scared of you". He got very offended by it.

I wake up right when my bf leaves for work. This morning I decided to pretend I was asleep just cuz I guess. The cat didn't know I was awake either. He called her in to feed her, which I do not him & she didn't move. He came to hug me goodbye while I was sleeping, then started calling the cat. She ran away from him.

When he left the door she made noises then proceeded to wake me up. She ran to her food.

So pretty much my question is what does this mean. She is normally very social and even with him, but she has been getting into crap latley around the house and he yells at her and so on.

Im not sure but... what do you think?

Maybe the cat realizes what a jerk you are with and doesn't want you to be with him. Cat's are very good about sensing things like that.

The guy sounds like a real loser. Maybe you should rethink your relationship with him. Or sit down and have a serious adult talk with the man.

No one should yell at a cat. For the most part, cats are not trainable, like dogs. Cats don't put up with human anger and abuse because they don't "need us". If the cat ever gets out, or if the cat is allowed out, under the current circumstances, the cat will leave and find a new home. In fact, under the current circumstances, maybe you should find the cat a better home.

The cat has more sense than you do. The boyfriend has abused the cat in some manner and don't be surprised it you come home some day soon and find the cat missing, injured, or dead because of that "boyfriend".

The statistics show that those who mistreat animals also mistreat children and others. Abusers are mean and that's that.

You admit your boyfriend has an anger problem. Beside the fact he needs to get help and he will NOT "grow out of it", by the way, he definitely needs to leave the cat alone unless he begins, immediately, to treat the cat decently.

Cats tend to pick one human in the household as "Top Cat". This is always the one who feeds them. Only you should feed the cat and both of you need to be decent to the cat or HE needs to go. Cats love soft voices and tension-free homes, or else, as stated, a cat will leave, find a new home, and never come back.

I've owned a total of 15 cats in my lifetime....or rather, they've "owned" me, and I raised pedigree cats.

cats are very good at picking up on human character/emotions. She's noticing this "anger" in him and is afraid of him! There's a reason she doesn't want to be around him. Take a cue from your cat and leave that angry man. It's not a "childish" pattern to be angry and throw fits... it's downright a BAD SIGN. It's only a matter of time before you and your cat are BOTH cowering in the corner somewhere..... I hope you are smart enough to get out of this situation. (and if you're not.... then give the cat to someone who isn't going to stay with a man that terrifies her, she deserves to feel safe in her home and you're not making that possible.)

I'm a firm believer that pets and young children (like babies and toddlers) are a great judge of character. If your cat is normally a loving cat towards everyone else, that should tell you something. I'm sorry to tell ya, but your cat knows this guy is bad news. I'm not saying dump him cuz your cat hates him, but maybe you should really consider if you want such an angry person in your life. Of course the decision is yours.

Maybe he has abused the cat in some way. Maybe if your cat has been getting into crap lately maybe he (your bf) has spanked it or threw it up against a wall. If your bf is loud maybe the cat if scared of his loudness. If your bf is an angry man then maybe you should get away from him. It doesn't sound healthy to be in that kind of relationship.
