If your philosophy was, "Life is a terminal disease that has a 100% mortality rate", then I can understand your pessimism. If you could live forever, then would life be precious? Our perception of reality changes with time, but reality is reality. Could we feel joy with out feeling sorrow? Could we be able to see eternity in a fleeting moment if time was not an issue? The purpose of birth is life. The purpose of death is to make way for new life. Life is a miracle in every sense of the word. If death was not part of life, it would be all to easy to forget that fact.

Philosophicly speaking can you prove that we are actually born? We experiance pain, joy, sorrow and anger while we are awake but also do so while we are asleep. How do we know that we are real and not the sleeping fantasy of ourselves in another reality. Being born is meerly the Dream begining and Death the Dreams end. Face it we see a bright light. Sometimes a person talking to us urging us on or telling us its not our time... remind you of anything> How about mornings when your running late for school, work, that date with your probation officer. We believe we are alive because we Feel and that is all we know but Death and Life may just be a part of a greater life. Think about it tommorrow after you have just had a great nights sleep and a killer dream. Maybe?...

The premise of your question is wrong. We are not born to be dead. In fact, we do not die at all. It is the body that 'dies'. The body is the vehicle we are riding in, but we are the spirit soul. The spirit soul is the eternal, spiritual energy of the Supreme Lord. Therefore, we do not die and we are not born. It is the body only that goes through these transformations. Read the Bhagavad-gita As It Is at the link below and you can understand our real identity and our relationship with the Supreme.

Because we are not born to be dead. We're just born. And then we die, but a lot happens in the middle.

Do you own a car?

Why? They just immediately depreciate the moment you drive them home, and begin a downhill run to junkville.

Do you eat food?

Why? It just goes from your mouth to your butt, and is not pretty from there on.

Why were you born?

To make some sort of difference between point A (birth) and Z (death). You have the opportunity to impact a person, people, a town, a state, a country, a civilization.

So whats it going to be?

And the bible says we are on earth to bring praise honor and glory to God. (for which I agree)

Want to go there??

Ho dear, Life a lesson for any soul to understand what it is and how it is.The soul experiences great knowledge and goes to the next level. That is like we graduating from one class to the other. This is how each birth of our becomes experience.
If you really believe in rebirths. Sometimes you really wonder looking at person who might look very familiar ( probably you wouldn't have met him at all.) but somebody you might get irritated by just the sight of them for no reason. All.... the magic of rebirths though we might refuse to just believe it.

We ask for this life. You can never escape from that you should learn what you have come for. When you leave the world you are answerable to somebody who will come to take you back.
So dear this life as we have asked for learn the best when you go see you dint repeat this class again. Let us upgrade ourselves to the next level.

DEATH IS AN EXAMINATION FOR THE SOUL ANNUAL/ BOARD EXAM.

GOOD LUCK. want to know in detail about this subject read Dr. Brain weiss - Psychologist.

we are destined to be dead because we have to regenerate the human-being in a fresh form for the future of the mankind on our planet Earth. In otherwords, marriages are celebrated as a prelude to the arrival of the offspring between a male, and female, and only hypocrites say that marriages are made in the Heavens. This issue in Philosophy is too vast to be discussed over one cup of coffee or for that matter over a chat line.
