Most people think Tracey Chapman (of "Fast Car" fame) is a woman.
But I thought I'd heard it somewhere that Tracey Chapman is the FATHER of the lead singer from Bloc Party?
Your answers/thoughts would be mostly appreciated

You may be referring to a different Tracy Chapman in connection with Kele Okereke. Although more frequently used for girls, Tracy is also a boy's name (e.g. Tracy Kidder, the author of the book "Soul of a New Machine").
Wikipedia's entry on Okereke quotes him as demanding of the magazine Skyscraper in early 2005: "Why is it important to know what I had for breakfast? Or who I went to bed with? Or what sneakers I am wearing? If it's relevant to understanding my music, then so be it. But if it's purely to satisfy the media's obsession with celebrity, then no thanks. I don't want to play that game." With that in mind, it isn't likely he's talked much, if at all, about his early life. I'd dismiss the Tracy Chapman thing as a rumor in the absence of any more concrete evidence.

She's a woman you silly sod! There could of course be more than one person in the whole world called Tracey Chapman, so there might be another one who is the dad of someone from bloc party

well if you listen to fast car tracey does mention that she is a she I think it is when she says something about what she works as .

hahahahah.. She IS a woman... u probably heard wrong.. she just happens to have a deepish voice, but she is most definately a woman..
