Namitha,
Happiness, in a poetic way, is 'safar bhi aur manzil bhi'! thus its a state of mind and its something all of us strive for.
but the paths to it could be different - like some of us to travel by road while some others could prefer rail.
Happiness need not be a sepsne of well being, some folks get thier does of from penance, some others by giving ...

Definitely a state of mind, otherwise the same thing would make everyone feel the same way. All that forbidden fruit stuff is for those who make excuses and conditions, superstitious types. A person can choose to enjoy something if they have a healthy mind or feel bad about it.
Anticipation is a good example! When you expect something to be really nice, even if it's not very good after all or even bad, it's never too bad. But if you expect something to be bad, you're never far wrong. Didn't someone say there's neither good nor bad but thinking makes it so?
I think HAPPINESS is the same. It's a perspective. Depression can be changed by looking at things differently. A person's philosophy shapes their temperament and character.
Why are some people stressed by things that others thrive on? Frame of mind! It all starts from/with a thought.
B well.

Happines is the state of mind that we are in the present and also a bit of our past deeds too.If we had a memory of something good,it would give us some happiness. It all depends on how you would like to perceive life to be,your present situation may not be good, but a past memory might make your mind to be in a state of happiness.

Happiness is the feeling that comes from serenity. It is both within the mind and soul. The past deeds that we remember with pleasure are indicators of how deeply we are still imbedded in the need for time. It shows how anxious we are about being our true selves.

I feel, both. Its a state of complete contentment with yourself, when there is no craving for action to achieve that "something" that lies outside us. Its a state of acceptance when you accept yourself and others and the world around you as it is, without being anxious to change everything around you. Please dont mistake this as complacency but take it as an active state where one tries to improve the world for himself and others, but at the same time is content with the status quo.
That effectively means building an island of contentment in an ocean. The ocean may be active, serene or volatile but the island is not ruffled by the activity outside it. One can build his/her own island with the help of his/her own deeds which should be suffused with the eternal values of truth, love and compassion. This journey on the path of truth is quite difficult, but believe me, ITS WORTH !!!

Happiness is state of mind. Every thing depends on how you take it.
If we can accept a simple fact of life, that is what ever happens to us has got something good comming in for us. that's it. Work for it you'll be give. Lord never denies the fruit that you should have. he never shares your fruit to others too.

Happiness is described as fusion of mind and body in an exalted state.sat chit anandham...Lord siva had shown the highest form of ecstacy by dancing with his consort forgetting anything and everything around him.Happiness accrues to you if your mind and body have developed on righteous lines and your past misdeeds are surely obstacles to achieve happiness.
