The top of the list has to be 'Peace Lily' (also known as spathephyllum) next is 'Chinese Evergreen' (also known as Aglonema). They are in the same family as Philodendron, which is also very easy to grow. The key to success with those two cousins is never let them wilt. They don't like to dry out, at all. If you want something truely indestructable... and a little expensive is 'Cast Iron Plant' (aslo known as Aspidistra). This one is a little more forgiving.
Good Luck

I agree with some of the above posters, Mother in Laws Tongue (Sansevieria), Spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum), and I'd like to add Golden Pothos (Devils Ivy). A large array of cacti and succulents are suitable if there is access to plenty of light and these require very minimal care.
Let me caution that most house plant problems are caused by overwatering so be cautious not to overwater.

i've got stored a bamboo plant for a year now, and that is been great. I watered it each and every thursday and wednesday, and it stayed high quality and healthful- merely determine which you do provide it miracle boost as quickly as a week (I did it on tuesday). Spider flowers paintings nicely, yet you pick some huge area. Indoor Bonsai can paintings, in spite of the undeniable fact that it demands careful care. particular plant life could additionally paintings, yet maximum of them pick solid image voltaic.

The Spider Plant is one of the most popular indoor plants for beginners because it doesn't curl up and die if you neglect it!
The variegated leaved plants are nicest, and they're great for hanging baskets as they have loads of little spider plants dangling down.
They are also supposed to absorb any nasty chemicals in the air - so pretty and healthy!

My mom has palms in plant pots all around her house, and she rarely waters them and they look great. I like the english ivy and those lillies of the valley or something of the other because they're easy maintenance.

I'm not sure of the proper name for this plant but I've always known it as "mother in law tongue"!!! They survive any treatment. I have a lot of different ivy's in my home both in direct sunlight and darker areas and have no problem with these either.
