There is going to be a season 3. The creators of the show have mentioned that it's sort of a ending to season 2, and then season 3. It starts October 4th at 9pm, and there will be an episode shown on Sept 27th recapping the previous shows.

Not heard about a film but all the main actors have been contracted for 4 more series after this one.

I heard somewhere that it is going to run for about 5 years!
Season 3 has either already started in America - or starts in October - again, just something I heard!

Season 3 starts either Oct 4th, headed by a 'catch me up' special episode on Sept 24th.
I don't know about the film.

there's going to be atleast 4 other seasons of Lost.
i never heard about a film but i wouldn't be surprised.
October 4th or 5th is the start of the new season.
