Billy Bob Clinton had numerous opportunities and eight years to stop it, but is is easier to blame a President who just came into office and couldn't get his staff in place because of Democratic blockages - ****.

9/11 was a wake up call to all of us. We have seen these things happen on the news for years around the globe and we all just went about our daily life. We felt bad but it didn't affect us. We lived on the premise that nothing like that would ever happen here. Did someone "let" it happen. I have no idea. We will never know exactly what was in the minds of some people. Even today someone could walk into a subway system or travel around the country spreading a virus that could kill us all. I refuse to live in fear. Those people died because it was their time to die. It is just the circumstances that were horrible. You could drive up to a school right now and blow it up. I cannot believe how easy it would be. But we cannot become a total police state. That would be giving in and going against our original guaranteed freedoms. To put blame at someone's door does nothing. Those who deserve the blame are already feeling the guilt. There is no doubt in my mind that for the rest of their lives they will have to live with what they have done. And that I think, is the hardest. The rest are celebrating and shame on them.

Complete rubbish.
These guys who think the US did it. Do the math on how many people would have had to have been in on it. It is in the thousands. Where are they? Were they all shot later? Why wasn't there a huge spike in the murder or disappearance rate after?
Plus, I am a Bush fan. But he isn't the best actor or communicator. Do you really think that he personally could have faked the dumbfounded reaction that he had, or the level of anger after?
It is a shame that someone had to go through all this trouble for a bunch of moon bats but there are answers to everything claimed on the conspiracy websites: http://www.debunking911.com/
Now left it happen is another matter. Looking back, should have know--maybe. But there are still people who make the case about Pearl Harbor too. It is easy to look bak now and say it is obvious. But there were no outcry at the time and it just didn't seem reasonable so they missed it

For those of you that believe what happened on 9/11 was an inside job...
Can you please explain to me why everytime that I read on these message boards that what happened on 9/11 was a act perpetrated by the Bush Administration it makes me curious how the people who believe that is what happened can explain two very basic aspects of the conspiracy.
First, how could a plan that clearly would have had to have so many people involved in the plan, be executed, without anyone coming forward and actually saying I have proof that this was an inside job? I mean, it would have taken a multitude of people from a multitude of agencies, the military, airline companies and the Bush Administration not to mention the passengers on Flight 93, their family, friends, more agencies who were all in contact with the passengers at one time or another during the flight. Yet, not one accusation or leak that this was a inside job. How can you explain this? Inside of Bush's Administration there have been more leaks to the press over the years for every little petty thing imaginable, almost on a weekly basis, and yet, a supposed plot that would have taken the involvement of so many people and there is noone that can claim to have personal involvement coming forward. Nothing. The only accusations come from those who clearly have something to gain by discrediting the Administration but can't and won't claim involvement.
The other aspect of the 9/11 Conspiracy that has me curious is if the Muslim men accused of hijacking the planes were wrongfully accused and *if* there was one iota of truth to the claim, why wouldn't the Muslim community coming out of the woodwork denying the claims? I mean, think of the political advantage and the world wide support the Muslim (Islamic) cause could gain if it were proven that President Bush and his Administration were behind what happened on 9/11 nd those who stand accused were actually innocent.. There has never been a protest stating that this was not perpetrated by Muslims. There has been Muslims who have denounced the attack by fellow Muslims and go on to defend the Islamic religion as one of peace. There were groups of Muslims around the world dancing in the streets celebrating the attacks. Yet, not one protest for the "wrongfully accused" Muslims. Not even from any of the Muslim Clerics. Bin Laden laid claim to the attacks himself and proclaimed that the acts of 9/11 were perpetrated in the name of Allah. This would also have had to make Bin Laden part of the Bush Administration conspiracy plan. Somehow I just can't imagine Bush and Bin Laden working together on this.
Anyone, please, give me logical answers as to why what I just presented to you does not have merit.

i might say: " i might pick to thank all of those people who stored their heads interior the sand, allowed the media to tell them what to think of quite than questioning independently and doing any examine, and reported i became a tin-foil hat donning conspiracy theorist". merely via fact a number of espouse concepts that the two frighten you or you disagree with, is not any reason to call human beings names. i'm a conservative, who voted for Bush (regrettably), so do not say i'm a liberal united statesa.-hating communist. real human beings question, sheep save on with blindly. those of you who think of there is not any way the government had any hand in this, evaluate the information surrounding the attack on Pearl Harbor, and the Gulf of Tonkin incident. There are forces at paintings plenty greater advantageous than the U. S. government. :-(

Hindsight is 20/20.
NO ONE one was doing enough to protect us.
But look at all the outrage, lawsuits, etc. against US surveillance policies even NOW. They say Bush is a fearmonger and trying to take away civil liberties - that there's not a real threat. The New York Times publicizes secret programs, and our elected officials are bending over backwards to make sure we are "nice" to terrorists, giving them rights they NEVER had in 200 years of US military history.
If there is so much resistance to pro-active government surveillance and defense measures AFTER the 9/11 attack (3,000 Americans killed in less than two hours!), then there would have been NO chance at all to institute these measures before.
People don't want to do what's reasonably necessary (consistent with the Constitution and past practice), even now, to reduce the chance of attack. Witness all the "thumbs down" votes this message will undoubtedly receive.

You might be right.
For anyone interested in 9/11, the war in Iraq, etc., check out this website: http://www.wanttoknow.info/9-11timeline6...
Its a timeline of events surrounding 9/11 from the 70's to the present. Each entry is referenced by actual articles in the main stream news media. No theories just facts. Excellent reading.

No, Did you suspect that they were going to use airliners as bombs? Do you know anyone who predicted that would happen? The Government is made up of people, just like you and me. Some very smart some not to smart. Alot of our intelligence capabilities have been hampered by people that don't want them to do anything that might infringe on somebody's civil rights, but want them to know everything before it happens. The CIA or FBI can't by law now tap phone lines of suspected terrorist's but they are supposed to know about everything before they do it? Explain how to me please
rlamas- How about because they flew extremely low over one of the most populated areas on earth. Just might be a few cameras floating around you think ? I might even flip on my camcorder if a 747 was flying between the skyscrapers.
And yes the planes were reported as soon as they veered off but what can you do reel them back in with your fishing line? GET REAL people!

I think everyone wants someone to blame so why not the president. You all amaze me sometimes. I lost someone too that day and I dont blame the government I blame the ones that flew the planes into the buildings.

Stop believing the conspiracy theory children. I know it's a trendy thing to do these days, but anyone who honestly thinks our government "allowed" this to happen, or in any way orchestrated the events of 9/11/01 needs to be picked and and sent to a mental institution without delay.
