Why would any US citizen, especially an elected official (Senator, President) what to infringe on my rights as a US citizen to bear arms. It is so hard to comprehend why anybody with any common sense would ever try to regulate or take firearms away from the citizens of this country.
It is wrong on the highest levels to ever attempt this. I have a right to protect me and my family against criminals and others who wish me and my family harm
So all you liberals can stick your gun control laws up your a** !!

I do not dispute your right to "bear arms" I do however reserve the right to try to find a way to get all the guns away from CHILDREN and all the BAD GUYS (for lack of a better term) out there. Do you not agree that owning a firearm is a responsibility that should not be taken lightly? Do you not feel that a responsible person should license and know how to use and care for SAFELY any firearm that they own or wish to own? Do you not agree that a person that is mentally unstable should not own or have access to a weapon? Check out the laws and the violence in the UK...not as bad as in the US is it? And their cops don't even routinely carry firearms to my knowledge. How important is your weapon to your daily life? How important is your family to your daily life? You don't have to be so hostile to people who really are trying to make things better for everyone. You have the ability to vote for the President, Congress and all levels of State & Local government. If you don't like the current laws then VOTE for the people that will represent your belief's. That is what makes the US great. You didn't need to make that last comment in your question.

I am liberal-leaning moderate and a gun owner. The majority of gun control laws (the Brady Bill, Bush’s pledge to extend the ban on semiautomatic assault weapons, Hatch-Craig Gun Control Amendment, Smith/Jeffords Background Check, Hyde-McCollum “Mandatory Gun Show Background Check Act”, etc.) came from "conservative" Republicans. Keep in mind that all the "gun control" bills passed under Clinton came in the first 4 years of his presidency, under a Republican House and Senate.
You conservatives can stick your gun control laws up your a**.

Ugh more people are killed with their own guns during a home invasion. Keep your ******* guns douchebag and shove them up your ***. You sound like a very angry and belligerent person, exactly the guy who is going to have a "tragic accident" some day. You also sound for at least the present, unreachable by logic.
I'll just ask you one question- do you watch the local TV news every night? If you do, can you stop for a while? get your local news by radio or paper.
The reason I ask this is because some studies have shown that people who get most of their information from local TV news have an exaggerated fear of crime. Local TV news works on the principle of "if it bleeds, it leads." I think if you watch less TV news, you won't be so afraid.
