The general rule of thumb for tattoo-related pain is proximity to a bone. The bonier the area, the more painful it is alleged to be, and vice versa - the fattier or less bony the area, the less painful it should be.

Bear in mind before you get a tattoo that you may want to cover it up on occasion - like if you're attending a formal affair or something. A tattoo on your wrist will be difficult to cover if you ever need to.

No it doesnt. I have 15 tattoos, and the least painful was the tattoos on the inside of my wrists. I have two stars. The less fatty the area does not dictate the amount of pain. Good luck.

no worse than anywhere else. I have a habit of tatooing painful places lol, I have a lower back tat and on one the back of my neck. Thye both hurt but neither was excruciating or anything. I didn't cry with either one or give up or anything. You'll be fine, it's all mental. And if its on your wrist it's obviously not that big. My back took 3hours. You should be done (depending on colors) in an hour or less if it's black and white. Just bring a friend and talk your way through it you'll be fine, I promise. Thats where I want my next one too. :-P

Please, do not get a tattoo. In a few years you will be sorry that you had it done. When a person first gets a tatto it looks bright and clear. However, over the years the color is not as bright and the tatto looks muddled.

Why not get a temporary tatto, one that can be removed. That way you are able to change it at will, without the longterm ill effects.

the pain from getting a tattoo really varies from person to person. getting a tattoo feels like a burning ballpen on your skin.
if you can handle most pains without crying, then im sure youl be able to handle getting a tattoo on your wrist.

I'll say not getting one on your wrist no matter it hurts or not. You will hate it when your skin go saggy one day, unless you don't intend to wear short sleeves chlothes anymore.

it's supposed to be the most painful, after the top of your foot.

It also doesn't help for places of work that look for "clean cut" (I have SO many issues with that....don't even get me started...), so you might want to try upper arm or back of shoulder first.
