Drainage tubes are usually used for overweight women. I never had any tubes for mine.

I have had 3 c-sections and I never had a drainage tube at all. I has staples with a bandage over it. Either before I went home or within a day or two after that they were removed and the Doctor put steri strips across and I was told to leave them on until they came off on their own- which takes about 2 weeks. I have also had one regular birthing and I think the C-section was way better to heal from. Less pain. I was at the mall on day 3 or 4 with all of them to get the baby's picture taken. No worries it will be fine. Good Luck

I had a c-section and I never had any tubes. It has only been about 4-5months since, but my scar has already faded considerably. I also had sutures, not staples, that dissolved and did not need to be removed. I think it all depends on your doctor. I think that the c-section could not have been any worse than having a vaginal delivery...but I don't have any experience in that area, this was my first child.

Hello, after c-section you will have a cath. bag (where your urine goes). You of course will have the i.v. and pain meds in a pump, with a button to push when u hurt...it all goes by so quickly, u have the new baby to see, ur still recovering from "major surgery", family and friends are visiting, and then if u are nursing, u have the baby at your side (that is if their not in the nicu..my twins were for a while and its okay...don't be worried) have hubby, boy-friend, mother or who ever take lots of pictures for u...at the moment u won't seem too enthused but as time goes by and u heal they along with the baby of course will be the center of your attention!
Good luck 2 U!

There aren't any drainage tubes but you do get a catheter prior to the c-section which usually remains in for up to one day plus an IV for administering medicine and to keep you hydrated.

No, No tubes. You will be stitched up and then you will bleed like a period. If there is anything to drain, they either get it out or it comes out during the bleeding.

Yes, yuck. I had a drainage tube that stayed in for a day or two. I made a point of NOT looking at it. I think if I had, I woulda passed out.
Yucka, yucka, yucka.

I can't really remember. I think I had a drain for one day in the hospital but not at home. I wasn't in half as much pain as I thought I would be.
