check the type of memory your computer's motherboard accepts. Its only SDRam if your computer is more than 3 years old, newer computers use DDR.
Best way is to remove your current memory module and check on that module for the type of memory it is. Its usually written on there, but if you brought your PC from a store, then best yet, just check the manual, spec note or the box.
If you've got the computer custom made, or got it made from a local computer, then check the motherboard manual.

DDR and DDR2 RAM is physically different - you cannot use one in place of the other. Likewise, if by SDRAM you are referring to PC100 or PC133 or PC66, then that too is physically different from both DDR and DDR2.

Go to www.kingston.com or www.crucial.com and look up your computer. That will tell you the memory you need.

The RAM on your computing device and on your computing device must be the comparable variety of DDR, yet, the size of the slots and modules are very distinctive from one yet another. The computing device RAM fits right into a quick SODIMM slot, while the computing device makes use of longer DIMM slots.

You don't decide the kind of memory you get - the computer manufacturer designs a certain type to use.

Go to memory-man.com and put in your computer name or model. it will tell you the right kind and amount to get. No worries.
