Our History teacher says that Hitler's childhood name was Helmuth. But I don't believe her. I checked Wikipedia, World Book and some other sources and did not find it so. So is it true??

1) No it is wrong because his name is Adolf Hitler.

2) Baby Adolf had the nickname it is Adi

3) Helmuth Stieff was the youngest and smallest general of Hitler's army and he tried to kill Hitler. As a result of that, he was sentenced to death on August 8 1942, and executed the same day in Plotzensee prison.

no. Adolf Hitler was his birthname. This is also from wikipedia:

Later, Adolf Hitler was accused by his political enemies of not rightfully being a Hitler, but a Schicklgruber. This was also exploited in Allied propaganda during the Second World War when pamphlets bearing the phrase "Heil Schicklgruber" were airdropped over German cities.[citation needed] Adolf was legally born a Hitler, however, and was also closely related to Hiedler through his maternal grandmother, Johanna Hiedler.

i think your teacher may have been confused. other german leaders such as von Moltke were called Helmuth, as for Hitler himself, i don't think so. could have been his middle name?
