Sachin fans would always cry unfair. But, let's face it, Ganguly has been a successful captain (He won most Test Matches for India). The only reason he became infamous was because of his poor batting form.
Even Azharuddin had left India team in disgrace. Captains are always under pressure to perform well. Sachin was a poor Captain, and he accepts it.
Obviously, Sachin and Ganguly understand situations of declaring better than me and you, so that decision may have been correct. Sachin may have regretted missing his 200, but he has served the team well all his life, and he knows where to bend in the interests of the game, and nation.

It was Dravid, Not Ganguly! and Sachin's score was 195! get your stats right before you ask a Question..
As of Fair or Unfair... It was Fair - Its the team which should be kept first not personal milestones and thats what the Great Sachin believes in too.

I saw twice Dravid did that...One in last test series they played against WI in which Kaif was 148 and just 2 runs short of 150 but still Dravid declared the innings so when dravid could do this just two before then i wont blame Ganguly for this coz its a decision taken with the advise of coach not by the captain alone him self...

If it were Ganguli he might have given 10 overs to sachin for finishing his 200. For your kind information it was Rahul the Great's-Great Decision

To see whether the declaration was fair or unfair, one has to see at what stage of the match the captain had declared and also whether such declaration was at the interest of the team. If the declaration was at the interest of the team, the captain should not be blamed

it wasn't saurav ganguly ...it was rahul dravid who acted his part(i.e. of the wall), and stood between tendulkar and his double.
