Peace needs active participation. You can only find peace within yourself if you know yourself. Start by asking "who am I", "what is my purpose in life", "where am I going, my destination", "who can help me to attain peace", "what can help me", "what are the obstacles of peace, and what must I do to get rid of them" Most of all, if you can escape to a quiet place once a day, where only you will be surrounded by nature, near water or in a field surrounded by birds, you will experience a sense of calmness equal to peace. Close your eyes and drift away........peace

I find peace in reality. I find that religions and other superstitions are geared towards instilling guilt about yourself, judgement of others, and unrest about the world.
If you study reality, you won't get warm fuzzy answers, such as "God loves you" and such. But those answers are superficial. Real peace comes understanding the world around you and realizing that all people are in the same boat you are. It comes from realizing that good and bad things that happen to you are caused by your own decisions and the mostly chaotic environment around you.
Once you understand the world, to some degree, a contentment about the way of things will come over you. You'll never understand the world completely, but eventually you'll come to realize that you don't have to understand everything. You'll be more willing to just admit that there are things you don't know. That doesn't mean you won't try to find out, but it is an honest admission of where you are now.

I answered your other question on life and would like to answer this one also for you.
You may not be able to 'find' peace, but you will surely feel peaceful if you attempt to remove or elimate all those feelings which disturb you. Many of these may not have immediate solutions, so I suggest you just postpone thinking about these. Many of the lesser important feelings which disturb you should be solved by yourself. Some of the solutions may not be the correct ones, however, keep giving answers to all these yourself. You will find the depressions slowly thinning out and this kind of feeling is the path to what we call 'peace'. There are many things like medidation etc. but some are not carved to do these or some just dont like medidating etc. So just 'postpone' your worries!! Smile for yourself :-)

trust me on this.
you'll only find peace, if you make peace with yourself and your life.
The only way to fing peace is to remove from within yourself, the feelings of greed, jealousy, hate, and other negative feelings.
after you have done this (which is not exactly an easy job), you'll sleep peacefully like a baby.
