Trouble is, many rape accusations are false or mistaken. How do you correct a miscarriage of justice after the accused has been wrongly put to death?

I'm personally against death penalty in general. As much as I think some sick bastards deserve it, there's just too big a risk that an innocent person's life is taken. The justice system f***s up sometimes, I'm sure you've heard of the innocent people already executed in the past, for example in the USA.
I think a life sentence is a better option. That way dangerous people are never let back out to society, they have a loooong and unpleasant punishment and plenty of time to think about what they've done and be guilty. And, if somebody who has been convicted is innocent they have the chance to try to prove their innocence and get their life back.
I think rapists should definitely get a harsher punishment than now. Maybe a life sentence, or at least a very long sentence plus a castration or something that will prevent them from raping again.
