Kuantan is my hometown. The answer is the 3 towns form a triangle. I found that this is a good IQ question for non-Malaysian !!!!!

Kuala Lumpur (KL) is a the largest city but Kuantan (Ktn)is just a small town. All the routes betwwen Kuala Lumpur and Singapore no wonder roads or railways are well built compared to the routes between Kuantan and Singapore. The buses and trains service from Kuala Lumpur are better than Kuantan's.

This is because there are more passengers from KL than Ktn. People such as companies and government will look at the place with highest profit gained opportunity. Therefore they provide better service (bus, train and road condition) for KL than Kuantan.

Basically, this proble is not according to geography but human behaviour.

p/s: I am kuantan borned and always travel KL-Ktn-Singapore and I know the routes condition, bus and train services very well. But I just take 3 and a half hours grom Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur.

any number of reasons. from what information you've given, it seems that kuantan may merely be farther from singapore than kuala lumpur. the terrain may be more difficult. the roads, if there are roads, may wind more. you may be taking a slower vehicle. you have to word the question more precisely (and i need to look at a map).

Becoz the latter travel must be opposite to the direction of earth rotation... earth roatation triggers Jet streams which help the aeroplanes to gain time.... but same loose time on the way back....
Same happens with trans atlantic flights also...
