Packet Collision: If two or more stations in a network try to send packets over the network at the same time, a packet collision occurs. When this happens, the packets are discarded or returned to their stations and retransmitted in a sequence timed to prevent another collision. If a packet is damaged or does not reach its destination, TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) will detect the error and retransmit it.
Broadcast - In computer networking, a broadcast address is an IP address that allows information to be sent to all machines on a given subnet rather than a specific machine. The exact notation can vary by operating system, but the standard is laid out in RFC 919.

An extension of the other awnsers>> When you use a Hub to connect your hosts you create a collison domain and a brodcast domain. If you replace your hub with a switch you will stop collions from happing. This will incress the number of collion domains. Switches use brodcasts to find other hosts on thier network. By using a router the number of brodacast domains will be incressed and each broadcast doamin will decress in size.

Information is sent as packets usually to a specific address. A broadcast is sent to all addresses. A collision is when two machines release a packet on to the network at the exact same time.
