Upgrading iTunes software versions wont delete any of your songs, it only offers you clearer views of different media in your library and allows better customization and viewing options.

NOTHING WILL BE DELETED, infact if you have an iTunes account then it will download missing album covers for your library FREE.

Itunes 7.0 Upgrade is seamless. The changes are relatively lite and cosmetic. Don't worry it will not delete you songs.

It should increase boot up of itunes and better search in your library and ipod.

No you won't lose your songs, but the new iTunes 7.0 is full of problem. Better wait a couple of weeks for Apple to fix it. Then download the new version and reinstall.
