Being an Entertainments Manager I had the pleasure to meet Michael Jackson on his `94 History tour and ended up talking to him for an hour as he was devastated at princess Diana`s death at the time. He is a very intelligent individual and I am saddened by all that has happened to him over the years, we spoke about music, religion, children and the world issues in general. There was absolutely no indication he has other intentions with children than to make them happy, give them the childhood he never had and spoil them, he also showed proof of the many charities he supports and has given them an enormous amount of money over the years, something you can`t say about many famous people or superstars. He has definitely a presence when you meet him and the thing I remember best is that he always sings, makes drum machine noises and dances even while talking. He constantly invents new music and writes down lyrics on paper he finds. I don`t use the word often but you can say the MJ is a musical genius. I hope things go better for him in the future as I have no doubt he is a victim of his own good nature. A new album would be great !

Well my father was in show business - started off as comedy mime artist then later became part of a double act called Jay and Kaye and then a comedy band called Dr Crock and his Crackpots. They did a lot of work in the 50s and early 60s and through him, I met a lot of famous people.
For example I met Sandy Powell in the Starlight Theatre on the end of Eastbourne pier before it sadly caught fire and was gutted. At the Hippodrome Theatre I met Leslie Saroney, a famous music hall star as well as others. At the Congress Theatre at different times I was introduced to people such as Terry Scott and Hugh Lloyd, Semprini, Dora Bryan and Terry Hall and Lenny the Lion.
We went to Brighton Hippodrome on another occasion before it became a damn Mecca Bingo Hall and met Adam Faith, Dora Bryan and Terry Hall/Lenny the Lion again, as they all shared the same manager who my father knew.
My father was also best friends with Bruce Forsythe and Harry Secombe, amongst others but those are the 2 I specifically remember, along with people like Ronald Shiner and others.
Finally when I used to be a taxi driver, I have carried the likes of Lesley Crowther, Tommy Cooper and Ruth Madock - oh and just remembered I had a job during school holidays working on a forecourt and once served petrol to Richard Todd too - most famous probably in Dam Busters.
That'll do. Don't want to be seen as a name dropper, do I? lol

I met Colin Farrell in Dublin a few weeks ago, he was pretty boring, he didn't do much. He was shopping and his hair was going grey, he looked really short as well. I wanted him to tell me to **** off, or be drunk or something. Obviously his public image is all for show. I thought it was cool though because of all the people he has worked with, Tom Cruise, Al Pacino, Samuel L.Jackson, Angelina Jolie, the list goes on. And he probably shagged Britney as well, so he is a bit of a ledge.

I haven't spoken to, but have come very close to the queen- once when she visited my high school where I had to play in the band for her, she later told our conductor that she didn't know girls could play brass instruments, which I was more than a llittle shocked at, she didn't actually say anything when she opened our new sports hall, so it was all rather disappointing. The other time was working at Royal ascot where I had to keep the crowds back as she did her walkabout the royal enclosure. She struck me as small and old, and rather tired looking, just like a kindly grandmother, I think it's about time she quit, but I guess that's for another question.
My sister worked in a rugby 'pitch' bar and served LAwrence Delalio. She was already obviously serving someone else when he walked up and demanded his drink, she told him rather sharply that she was busy and he would have to wait, then the other customer said 'don't you know who he is?' she didnt have a clue!

No one excessively famous. Just local media personalities; and since I live in Australia, I doubt many people who are responding to this question will know who they are.
But since I want my fifteen minutes of fame (and in case any other Australians happen to see this) I'll tell you who they were.
Ann Sanders - Sydney Channel 7 Morning News anchor: At a shop in Chatswood. She was also the mother of a boy at my school, but strangely enough I never saw her there.
Jamie Durie - Backyard Blitz show host and host of the only reality tv show I like (The Block): At my local supermarket.
Tara Brown - 60 Minutes reporter: I work at a toy store and I was the one who sold her a children's game.
Mark Ferguson - Sydney Channel 9 News anchor: Sold him something too at the same store.
Noni Hazelhurst - Former Play school host and Australian TV personality: We were standing in a line to get into the breakfast cafe in a resort in Fiji and she was standing behind us and started a friendly conversation with us, and even asked if my younger brother wanted to play with her youngest son.
Btw, can anyone tell me why mine are all Media personalities?
Why am I not meeting any movie stars?
My best friend met Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), how can I win?

I have met Michael Caine (lovely, really really nice bloke) diamond geezer as we would call him in London, was in a lift with Jamie Oliver and his wife Jools...again, really lovely couple, friendly too. My cousin is married to an ex footballer (Man U & Southampton) - you can see my profile I got a picture of him doing the London Marathon in aid of MS, bless him, so met a few of his team mates too throughout the years. Oh and Gordon Ramsey, his restuarant is just by where I work, and he goes into a local resturant I use for his breakfast - Foxtrot Oscar...hes a good bloke to.

Like your Australian friend some of the people I have met will only be known in Scotland but others well.......
I met Ewan McGregor at a do in Glasgow, he was surrounded by female models all vying for his attention as I approached he gently moved them aside and signed my autograph book lovely person and even better looking in real life!
Remember John Leslie ? well I met him at the same do, he was absolutely amazing he got up and got me a chair to sit beside him, much to the consternation of his torn-faced girlfriend Abby T. He just ignored her and kept on speaking to me I felt so special, I don't care what has been written or said about him I'm a fan and I hope that he gets a chance to prove his innocence.
Jim Kerr was at the event and was an eejit, not a smile nothing I felt I was invading his privacy, see there has been a re-union of his band Simple Minds, well here's one who won't be going to see them.
Simone Lahbib, Dawn Steel and Hamish, were all lovely, but there were two true stars there that night and one was Sarah Heaney, she was brilliant fun to meet a truly genuine person. I felt so moved by her that I wrote and thanked her for making my night and she phoned me and we had another wee chat.
The last name on my list is Frankie Miller the rock star, who had to come back from America because of illness. He was in a wheelchair and when I asked him for his autograph he pulled me toward him and gave me a big kiss and a hug he was so happy to meet everyone and he was able to write out my autograph in printed writing. I hope and pray that one day he'll recover fully and once again sing 'Caledonia', as only he can.
Met the Big Yin in a pub, he told me he had been in the company of Bette Midler, both were feeling very depressed, he turned to me and said," you know most funny people get severely depressed, and they are expected to put on a show all the time."

I've met a few, mostly from the music business or in films, and most of them from a few trends back. About half of them were pretty OK - friendly enough, and a few were very nice, but the other half were horrible twits. Rude, conceited and totally self-absorbed.
I'm not sure how that compares to us regular folks though.

When I was little I met the queen when she was opening a factory. She seemed very nice.
I used to work in a call centre and spoke to quite a few celebrities and politicians on the phone, most of them were very polite but Norman Tebbit was a bit scary.
I saw some idiot from London's Burning in a pub in Holloway and he was acting like a tosser.
