TEST cricket is the best. It is the most complete. It is the most challanging and can often be more exciting believe it or not. ODI can become very formulaic, although you do get a result on the day, which is good for tv and the crowd. 20-20 is exciting, can attract crowds who wouldn't otherwise make it, therefore makes good commercial sense. But it is a bit like comparing Chess, Checkers, and noughts and crosses.
TEST cricket is chess, highly strategic, complex and physically and mentally demanding. There are millions of possible formulas, and every move by your opponent requires careful analysis and counter-strategy.
ODI is checkers. You just have to get to the other side and take out as many pieces as quickly as possible. It does take some thinking and planning, but the tried and tested formulas work. 20-20 is O&X. You just bang in the box when it is your go, and hope for the best. Early mistakes cost the game, early success, and you have already won. No chances to recover...

Test Cricket, though at times boring, is the best format of cricket as the actual strength of batsman, bowler etc, can be assessed
only in test match. There each team and player will get a chance
to come back in the game even if they fail once, whereas in 20/20 and one day international the strength of the player cannot be assessed. However, from the entertaining point of view 20/20 cricket gets weightage
