Heat over the oceans evaporate the water from the surface and it forms into clouds. The prevailing wind blows them towards our shores and as they move over the land mass the clouds rise. As the temperature at the higher altitude is colder the clouds which contain water evaporated from the sea get cold and therefore cannot hold onto the moisture, it condenses into droplets and so it falls onto the land. To see how this works see how steam from a kettle condenses into water when it settles on a cold surface such as a window, mirror or a cold water tap.
Could be why Ireland is wetter and greener as for the Atlantic air flow it is first in line.

Because the sky is very sad that people on the ground are fighting and the sky is hoping that by pouring rain down will encourage people to be with loved ones at home snuggled together and being happy
