It's in, has never been out and never will be, Rock and Metal rule forever and will dominate the music industry forever and always. Rap, Hip Hop, RnB will all disappear eventually, as it is not real music.

I think the fact that Lordi won this year's Eurovision proves that rock is big at the moment. My faves are the classic rock artists that just keep going, churning out albums over the decades.

Every type of music is always in.

Rock is less popular now then years back, but still lots of artist make money playing rock.

I love banging 2 rocks together at the side of a river, it creates great music, particularly granite ..thats what you meant right ?

Rock covers so many genre the answer has to be yes.
70's supergroups, guitar bands, 4 piece etc yes
American softrock, lets hope not.

Years ago when the Beatles were in their early stages, someone predicted that rock and roll would simply fade away as a fad.. It didn't fade away then and it certainly won't now or anytime in the future..

in defiently, look in all the shop windows the lastest fashion is the "rock look". when a pop or hip hop band release a new record it will be out again and then when a rock band release a album it will be in again, see what i mean
