The InterNet can't "save" anything - it is merely a network of computers.

You can use it to save anything in data or digital form by sending the item you want to save to a storage device on a computer using the Internet.

As you're on a philosophy question, I'll give you a philosophical answer.

The internet is an imaginary world in which we can be what we want and do what we want. Frank Tipler in his book "The physics of immortality" believed that we will one day be replicated by super-computers deep in space into a massive virtual reality/internet-style environment and thus attain immortality.

Therefore his answer to your question would be "mankind"
