Trenton Duckett may have been seen. It's been said that the police allowed a car to go?
The driver of the car had a child with him that looked like the missing boy Trenton Duckett.

Is it possible that the police murdered Melinda Duckett to cover their mistake?

That rumor has been flying around. I don't think it's true. I grew up in the same town where the little boy was kidnapped and still live in the same county. I can tell you that our local police are equally as good at somethings and inept at others. However, they would not be able to pull off a cover up of that magnitude.

You have to remember that whenever there is a missing case, the FBI and Bureau of Missing Children get involved. Our local boys in blue are doing everything they can to help find little Trenton. Including chasing leads that they are certain are false.

I refuse to entertain the notion that she killed her son without more concrete evidence. I know this makes me in the minority. But when I hear of supposed evidence like "she bought a gun" and "she sold his car seat" I just shake my head. Buying a gun in our rural county is not unusual, nor is taking your kid with you. And obviously if she sold Trenton's car seat the day AFTER his birthday, she still would have had to have one for the next week or so until he disappeared. I mean really, that's the kind of thing grandmothers look for when putting the kid in the car.

Not saying she's innocent by a long stretch. Just not ready to assign guilt either. Remember Susan Smith did a great job of selling her story to the media and she turned out to be a cold-blooded killer. Just because Melinda didn't fit our idea of a grief-stricken mother doesn't mean she wasn't grief-stricken.
