I was born in England, migrated to Australia with my parents. My children were born in Aust in 1970 & 1973. My grandchildren were born in Australia in 2001 & 2003. Can my grandchildren get a British passport or recongition in an Australian passport so that they could work in Britain without a visa?

I'm not sure if they could do it without a visa, but I think your grandchildren would probably qualify for an Ancestry Visa, which allows them to work for up to 5 years in the UK without a work permit. And after those 5 years, if they have met the requirements, they could then apply for permanent residency, if they wanted. :-)

So many people will have different information on this and you are unlikely to ever get an accurate answer from word of mouth
The best thing to do would be to ring up the British Embassy in Canberra, of the nearest British Consulate...
Modern terror laws are bound to have made becoming a British Citizen more difficult, so it's best to get the official information from the official source.

I think they will be eligible for an ancestral passport.
Ancestral passports can be carried over from parents or grandparents.
Do check with the home office, but I think they will qualify.

they need to get a passport of the country that they were born in they will have to get Australian passport
