I have recently moved to a new country (not for the first time) and we have had to learn the language, the laws of the country, the customs, our way around, how to drive on the different side of the road, where to shop for food at the best price (over the border) and we have also had to find out how to go about setting up bank accounts, phone lines, find an apartment, get a tv licence - and all in a foreign language.

Its not easy but its fun, although sometimes very frustrating. You can read my blog if you like - give you an idea of what my experience has been like.

They may want to learn the language, the geography, the culture, the currency they use ,the cost of living, the laws, what education they offer and what hospitals and medical facilities they have, what employment they offer and what religion they practice.

Must know their language. Have a bilingual book on hand.
Must know how to use and understand their change of money.
Please have a pass port updated.
Know exactly where you are going before you get there, to prevent you and your lugage from getting lost.

About the new country:
Language, habits, currency, important places (shops, library, embassy, doctor); where to make friends; a community of where you are coming from; the weather (clothes).

Hi
Laws (you don't want to break them).
Immigration rules (You don't want to break them either).
How to get a home (so that you will have anywhere to live).

After that you could start to worry about:
Language (especially if they don't speak English so well).
Traditions (holidays and so on)
Friends (so you don't feel so alone).
