I have started taking Metformin for PCOS and have read the side effects on the box which there are lots! I have been on them now just under two weeks at 500 which is a low dose. I have noticed that i cry at the smallest things - is this a side effect? I am due to up the dose to 1000 tomorrow and am worried. Any help would be grateful

Metformin can make you feel hellish, the bigger the dose the worse you feel, ok it may not affect everyone.
One good thing about this drug of which I found out and that was, if you are overweight, this drug makes you feel sickly and off your food, hence you lose weight.
Be careful if you have other health probs because I was told to stop the drug right away if I had sickness or dye her ear as it could be dangerous for some people re de-hydration, I was told if I didn't stop It could have killed me.

Metformin can ake you feel a bit weepy as it messes with your hormone levals. Anything that does this can have an effect on your emotions. I wouldn't worry aboput it too much as it should settle down, even if you're increasing the dose. Give it some time andhopefully things will settle down for you. If it ets unbareable go to the doc ad he will be able to help.

Could be a side effect of reading the side of the box. If you are worried go back to your Doctor.

I take 2500 and it doesn't make me cry. I doubt that's the reason you're crying. But it does have side effects. Kinda messes with your love life a little.

I do not think it is a side effect. Do not worry.
If you have any concern about your medication, the best thing to do is to ask your doctor and follow his prescription.
