You didn't say how long you have been married,,how long you want to be married?? Woman may love their kitchens but most do not want appliances for their birthday gift or Christmas either. They won't mind so much I guess if you put something shinny or pretty inside the deep fat fryer, My dad put a nice ring inside a microwave oven when the first came out for my mothers Christmas gift at first she was disappointed by the gift till he opend the door for her..lots of kisses that night ;)
Good Luck and Best wishes to your wife(sounds like she may need them)

Neither!!! Purchase her something personal she'll love and cherish like a diamond or a gold locket, plan a nice romantic dinner(you can do yourself in the kitchen she loves to be in!) Include candles, maybe have a nice bubble bath drawn(that she can enjoy ALONE!), soft music you know SHE likes, kids away for the night, use your imagination, be creative...it's her special day!!

No, get her a taste full gold and diamond bracelet & a night out with you.
We get tired of being in the kitchen.
If she wanted kitchen items, she'd buy them herself.

Depends....How long do you want to sleep on the couch? Maybe you'll be lucky and she'll buy you a screwdriver out of the dollar bin on your birthday.

Dude... When will men learn, the last thing we want for our birthday is something boring like that... Take her out for dinner, buy her some flowers, some jewelry or lingerie, make it special and personal... Don't skimp, its her birthday...

Why don't you buy her a ring or jewelry instead of something to do your chores around the house and that's what it sounds like to me.
