U need to just have the will power to stop!
u need to think of how much it is damaging ur health!
think of having kids and not being able to run about with them coz u are huffing and puffing to much! thats even if u can have kids as smoking can make u impetent as it stores fatty deposits in your blood!

u know my nan is now having very bad health because she has smoked all her life, her toe has gone dead and black and will be dropping off because her blood was stopped to her toe because the tar blocked up her blodd flow!

u need help and someone to be there to take ur mind off of a cig when u want one!
that is me!!!

x

I smoked 2 cartons a week. I stoped 20 yrs ago. Heres what helped me. Your role models look up to people that don't smoke instead of ones that do. Your body functions on oxygen your organs need oxygen when you smoke your organs are getting carbon dioxide instead of oxygen. Think about that smoke hard die young or don't smoke and live longer wasn't a hard choice for me. You can also get a book at the library called (You Can Stop) it has a stop sign on the cover. Good Luck save your $

I'm planning to stop soon, so I know just how you feel.
I managed to stop once before for about 8 months. That was using one of those inhaler pen things with the nicotine capsules. It wasn't so much for the nicotine, but having it in my hand to fiddle with and sucking on it helped a lot with the habit.

You really need to break your routines so you avoid the situations you normally smoke in, and have something distracting to do when you want a smoke. I only started again over the christmas period when I was drinking at parties and nights out etc.

At least 4 of my friends have given up smoking by using Alan Carr's book Easy Way to Stop Smoking. They were all heavy smokers before and now have not had a cigarette in over 3 years.

Good luck

yeah i have, just over a year now i haven't had one!! i just stopped, i didn't want to do it any more, so i stopped. Although in the beginning it was hard, particularly when i was agitated or always after i had something to eat, and a few times i did give in and have one, but when i did it just remembered me oaf all the reasons why i wanted to stop, it really stinks and is very unattractive, like you say the money and of course health. Alcohol doesn't help either, but just always remember why you are stopping in the 1st place and gradually it will get easier.
Like i said i haven't had one for over a year, and now i cannot stand them!!! Good luck, and just stick with it!!!!
YOU CAN DO IT!!! JUST SAY NO!!! lol

P.S. WILLPOWER is what it takes, not patches, using patches just make you rely on them, you want to be free of it all!!
Also everytime you feel like one just do something else, that helps take your mind off it!

First make the determination that you want to stop.Secondly, indulge your family and friends to assist you.
Learn more on the hazards of smoking and place it in a place you'll always see it.
You could also give yourself soft punishments whenever you smoke, You could make yourself give a 100 dollars for charity whenever you smoke.
Wishing you all the best as you quit smoking.

I wanted to stop very badly so I bought big bags of M&M's and Jolly Ranchers etc... Whenever I wanted to smoke, I grabbed for the candy instead.

Most people use Nicorette Gum or wear a nicotine patch.

Although I have never had to quit smoking, I'm sure it's very hard.

Here is a link to a support system for quitting smokers.
