That way he (or she) will get the steaming pile of **** left by Bush and friends on the White House steps?

I think a moderate Rep. like McCain could get some of it turned around but still will take the hit the GOP deserves for screwing things up. He'd be one term, but not a disaster.

My biggest fear is a Democrat wins, is unable to do 8 years of massive Republican incompetence and then will get the blame for it (because the Repubs will spread lies and propaganda just like they have managed to convince people Somalia was Clinton's idea).

If that scenario unfolds, there won't be another Dem in the White House for 20 years!

Yeah. You have some good points, but do you really think we could handle another four to eight years of this nonsense if a less moderate Republican were in office? Of course they will blame us for everything. That's all they ever do. They're blaming us for all of the problems now when they have a majority in the House, a majority in the Senate, plus the Presidency. When DON'T they blame us for the problems they create?

For me, it doesn't really matter whether it's a Democrat or a Republican. If it's a Republican like Rudy (Giuliani), I would like to see a Republican become president. If he's running against Hillary, I'd REALLY like to see Rudy become president. But if the Republicans run someone like Jeb Bush...well, I don't think anyone would vote for him. Even I wouldn't, and I've got no problem with the current Bush (except for illegal immigration, he was really dumb on that one).
Oh, and MOST of the things said about Clinton were true. They weren't political propaganda. Fact is not propaganda.

I didn't mention Somalia even once. I don't think it really matters who started a "war". After all, Kennedy and Johnson "started" the Viet Nam war, and I don't see how it matters...except when people try to say that Republicans are war-mongers. It was a Republican who got us OUT of the Viet Nam war, not into it.

via fact the final time I responded your question you whined and had it suggested and bumped off, i will you should be high quality so as that i don't disillusioned your gentle thoughts. whilst your opinion on the Republican social gathering's opportunities sound solid to YOU, you fail to look on the completed image. That being the reality that many Dems are pushing the slogan "all people yet Hillary." Judging by ability of the polls, Hillary is precisely who they gets. i don't sense that President Bush has any bearing in any understand in this election. i think of that, while it comes right down to it, Dems don't have a platform exterior of "we are going to provide you issues for loose." lots of the human beings who unquestionably vote see by way of that. i think that your opinion is in accordance with lack of expertise, not information. So, in ultimate (and in order that there is not any mistake in my solutions) A. No, President Bush has not made it impossible for Republicans to win the presidency in 2008. B. No, Powell isn't the only Republican who has of challenge. Fred Thompson is going to mop the floor with Hillary.

No, that would be like going back to a boyfriend that beat you bloody every day for 8 years! We need something other than a Republican. Not a Democrat, either. An independant would be nice, we could give them a chance to really prove what they can do by way of reform. You know, maybe give the US something shocking, like hope for the future.

There is something to what you are suggesting.
Except for the Norquist rabid anti tax factions, American nationalists, and the Christian fundamentalits, (this includes some Catholics too ), most Americans are tiring of the junta behind the Chimp. I just hope we don't completley become a police state by then,

NO!
Hasn't history told the story of the Republican Partys' agenda. Most of you haven't lived long enough to really get the picture. Take real hard look at America. Is it getting better? We are going backwards. The evidence is all there!

that's how bush probably feels right now he can't scratch his butt without someone saying he's doing it wrong. I frankly think all this hate between parties is ruining our country. Yes we need more than one party to balance things out, but when it comes to smearing, and fighting for the sake of fighting I am ashamed of all of them.

What mess left behind in the White House?
It was Clinton and his people that robed it, vandalized it, and stained it all up.
NOW THAT'S A MESS.
