Globalization has brought many benefits and some difficulties to India. On the positive side....more job opportunities have been created after the Globalization. BPO, manufacturing, textile, and pharma sectors are doing well. Software sector has gained momentum. This has resulted in improved affluence in Indian society.
Definitely, global fashion trends are catching up. Global food habits are not far behind. While adapting to these styles are not bad, the traditional Indian culture has to adjust to accept these into it.
In terms of lifestyle, more affluence is good news. But some people get carried away and try to imitate things that may not be suitable either for west or east - for example drugs, excessively permissive in sexual behavior etc.
Hopefully, globalization would bring in a sense of equality, work ethics, quality and sincereity!!

Do your own homework. Just kidding. Seriously though, I believe India will,and has, thrived in a globalized society. The benefits are already quite evident in terms of quality of life, education, and business.
. I do think the positives will out weigh the negatives (negatives being a possible loss of tradition Indian culture ). India, like Japan and many other counties, should be able to maintain its unique traditions and culture as it becomes a more globalized society/country. JMO
