I've got their studio tech compact and I hate it. But all my friends keep raving about how amazing Mac foundations are so I'm confused!! Is it just me?
Are the liquid ones better?

Compared to the other high end make ups, MAc offers a much more affordable option. When comparing with drugstore brands it is much better quality. What I would suggest is to try different kinds as I used to use studio fix but now use studio fix fluid which I like much better than the studio fix. Then I put studio fix on as a powder with a powder brush to give a bit of extra coverage instead of a powder.
You have to find the right kind for your skin type/color. Go to a MAC store and spend some time trying and researching the different kinds.
personally, I love MAC because it is much less than Chanel, lancome etc. Oh and they will be comming out with a brand new foundation mid-October which is supposed to be light, covering, and AMAZING! You may want to wait and try that out.

It depends on why you dislike it. I use the full coverage foundation as I have acne and it really does a good job-the best I've ever tried. But I do know of someone who take photos for a living and doesn't like it because she doesn't know how to apply it. When I use it, I apply it with a make-up sponge and use a pouncing-like action and that works well for blending. I then apply loose powder to set it and it lasts all day.

The liquid ones are better. Go with Studio Fix with SPF 15. It's flawless (when applied right) and lightweight.

I think foundation is down to individual person. I've tried loads but stick to a Chanel one know as it brilliant ..its all down to personal preferrence and what suits your skin best.
I've brought some MAC eyeshadow and eye liner and thought it was pretty good but no difference from all the major high-street brands.

I think Mac in general is over rated but its really down to the individual.

i actually like the foundation and had beem complemented several times when i used it. So i guess, it could just be because its not compatible with your skin or maybe using the wrong shade?

honestly i know exatly what u mean!
im a beautician...got all mac products but dont think its good at all...i would advise you...if u were going to spend that money then to try christian dior they are very good...alternatively you can always get your makeup from me!...

no i hate it as well when i used it i broke out like crazy and its was very cakey. no i use true mineral makeup and i have no breakouts and beautiful coverage.
