Owen Glendower or Owain ap Gruffydd of Glyndyvrdwy. With an army of 10,000 Welshmen and 12,000 Frenchmen who landed at Milford Haven. I think he penetrated into England as far as Shrewsbury but then Henry 1V sort of won a technical battle by defending a hill as the Franco-Welsh army also held a Hill, neither side would commit to battle. Henry 1V had the advantage, his high point was able to stop any help, food or support and therefore, wore the Welsh and their Allies down.

The Franco-Welsh army then retreated and in 1409 the English captured Harlech, which brought about an end to the Welsh Wars of Independence. Glendower died in Herefordshire in 1415.

I'm not sure but i think that the Welsh staved because they stayed at the top of the hill to get a better view of the opposition and the English surrounded them and the Welsh staved. I think that was the only time the Welsh tried to invade, but i could be wrong. I think i saw it on time team or some think.

Owain Glyndwr
He got quite deep in to England but the english cut off his supply lines back to wales and he nearly starved to death, the army went back to wales with n'er a major battle won.
Hence the Sons of Glyndwr are the bunch of taffs that go around burning english homes in Wales cos they want to keep wales welsh.

Owen Glendower. You can find mention of him in Shakespeare too, so he obviously invaded English Literature as well as the country.

Owain Glydwr - yeah he tried it and we snuffed him and his sheep-shagg*ing ancestors know that they are a Principality at best. They still try and get a bit leery but we English have subjugated them for centuries so ***** em. If their great leader was harder they would have won their independance and been a real country - but we knocked sh*it out of them for years & years. And they have a stupid language.
