That all depends on the conditions that put the fish there. Fish can wind up in a body of water from multiple methods (transplantation by humans, precipitation, other connected waterways, etc...).

As for at what point could you find fish - it all depends. Many cold water species might be able to exist right around the glaciers starting point, and obviously the further down river you go - there is still going to be even more aquatic life.

Fish are in river normally at all levels - but when the river reach sea, there you can see only sea fish (salt water fish) Because the river fish can't live in sea. The river fish is call sweet water fish, which can't survive in salt.

fish will go right up to the glacier face but usually stay far enough away so the crumbling glacier doesn't fall on them

if you dug a pond without doing anything within 6yrs you would have fish in it in most cases it would be sooner (from birds)
