All depends on what base is being used.

If its base 10, well the answer is an easy 2+2=4

If its a base 3 well then the answer is 12
In base 3 one would count as follows :0, 1,2, 10,11,12,20,21,22

Base 4 would be another format and so on/

So you see the answer is not possible to give without a complete question. Base n =?
