when you have white marks on your nails, is there anything else it can be except a calcium deficiency, and even if it is or not, how can you get rid of them??
and is it true that they aren't on your nails, just underneath them??

It would be extreme for someone to have an actual calcium deficiency. The reason is that when the body needs calcium it will go to the gut first, then attempt to reclaim it from urine, and if there is nothing there or not enough then it will go to your bones to get it. Long term this will lead to osteoporosis. There can be a lack of vitamin D, this would mean that dietary sources of calcium are not being absorbed but because the bones are the major storehouse, you still would not have a calcium deficiency.

Hi there
Just make sure you don't have an underlying kidney problem that you don't know about. What sex are you? If yoiu are a man and are not the type of person to visit your GP I would now, if you are female, then you girls do visit as neccesarry.
Getting back to kidneys, I suffer from kidney failure and my nails are white under the nail, I also have calcium problems due to my kidney failure, but listen, don't think you have kidney failure I am only letting you know one of the problems that could cause it.
Is your nails all gone soft and powdery? go and see your GP, it may simply be a fungal nail infection or as you say calcium deficiency ( can't spell it ) all you may have to take is a tablet called calcichew, you eat it like a sweet.
So if you are a person who doesn't visit their GP regularly then do so as you may have an underlying problem.
I'm not trying to scare you but if you do have an underlying prob like kidney failure, it is far better for you to get seen asap.
Other questions, are you overweight? and if so for a long time?, High blood pressure? also for long time , are you diabetic? and if so are your blood sugars high and if so for a long time? Do you have problems with your waterworks? are your legs full of fluid? if you don't know, just press hard with your thumb against the swollen part and if it stays dented in for a while then you have fluid retention. Don't worry about all I have said it still might just be as you said and all you take are the tablets I mentioned.
But for heavens sake if you do suffer from either one or more of what I have mentioned then get yourself checked out, it is better to get it sorted sooner than later because if it turns out to be kidney problems then sorting it out soon will hopefully stop it from getting worse and ending up like me, three times a week on a kidney machine for 4 and 1 half hours.

I do hope I have helped you, and if it turns out that you may have renal failure I may have saved your life, and that was just over a silly nail problem. Check it out with your GP and see if I am right at all in any way. Please let me know by email, my address is provided by yahoo if you accept my answer as !))% or maybee less.
Good luck, Jimmy
