No. They tend to be a bit sluggish and less capable of self defense than a fit person. Plus, you could do them a favor by putting them on a healthy diet until you receive your ransom.
Ransom should be higher, because they are high maintenance. Bring duct tape, they tend to whine a lot.
Always remember, choose a target that someone actually wants to ransom, and has the resources to do so.
I think O henry wrote a short story about kidnapping an obnoxious kid the parents didn't want to ransom, and the kidnappers couldn't tolerate the little nuisance either.

yes, You can say that fat people are harder to kidnap. but under certain conditions only.
for instance, if the kidnapper has a gun then obese or not, no one's hard to kidnap.
further still, if the kidnapping is taking place somewhere where there are ways to escape, then the kidnapper would definitely prefer a fat person.
if the kidnapper is thin compared to the guy who is being kidnapped, then he must have a good weapon, otherwise his chances of succeeding, i'm afraid, are quite slim
