I think not, but my mom told me to not trust them. I dont know why though, she just said that friends bring nothing good. I disagree, I need people who agree with me.. And please give some proof.

Yes, a very close friend betrayed me not a very long time ago. I was devastated. But guess what? There were 13! other friends that pulled me out of my misery, took my side and supported me like no one ever did! I lost one, but earned 13 that are always near and that I can really call BEST FRIENDS! Friendship is the best thing that could happen to someone and it must be cherished like the most valuable thing in the world. My oldest friendship has 18 years! Many thought it could not be possible (I`m a boy she is a girl and we are like brothers) but it lasted ever since, and it is the thing I value the most. Along time, I met a lot of people, and had a lot of friends. Some betrayed me, some stood by me during my worst times. And some earned the title of BEST FRIENDS. Most of the time, it takes time to decide which is a true friend like an old saying from my country: "the water passes, the stones remain". Let the "water" pass, and from the "stones" that remain you may find some made of solid gold that will be yours forever.

I agree with you, there are such a thing is a true friend. However, I have been backstabbed by someone I thought was my friend. She needed a place to stay after she broke up with her boyfriend, so like a fool, I let her stay with my boyfriend and I. She seduced him when I wasn't home, by getting him drunk and took advantage of the situation. Needless to say, when I found out, I kicked her out and it took alot of work, but did work it out with my boyfriend.

I agree with your mom a close friend has betrayed me . Sometimes you will have friends to laugh and talk in your face but they maybe talkin about you behind your back . There are also good friends who you can go to when your feeling down they will be willling to help you .

I have to agree with your mom. I have some friends who back-stabbed me. They pretend to be good as well infront of me. They like to use me. They come to my house just to surf the Net. Kind a stupid, right?
But, you have to choose a good friend because some of them will influence you. If you ask to choose friends or family, I will definetely choose family. I can't live without them.
I never trust my friend. Who knows maybe we will fight one day and she will spread my secret. I can't also tell them about my personal life because they are always into gossip.

Some friends will use you, but when they do it proves they do not value your friendship. True friends will not use you. They will always respect you and stand by you.
But see this a blessing. Now you know this person is garbage. It saves you the trouble of having to deal with them further. So now that you know, do yourself favor and put them out of your mind and move on.

No way..how can your mum say sumthing so bad?I agree with u really much.And friends are for you to be your partners,another sumone u can talk to when u feel sad or troubled .....if people don't believe and trust in friends,they think that friends are nothing good,then u will really feel lonely when u goto work or school.because u don't have a friend at alll!

I ultimately agree. Sure, I've had friends that betrayed me and made me feel discomfort, but it was other friends, true friends, that let me cry on their shoulder and show me that not all friends are backstabbers. I don't know where I would be without my friends, probably in a corner by myself.
