I'm off on holiday on the Saturday my company has decided to go into a field and have employees kill eachother. Today shooting rubber bands at everyone has to do. How sad should I be that I'm missing out on the opportunity to shoot people down with paint?

That stinks. Paintball is a lot of fun, and good exercise. If you are off, why are you missing it? If possible to make it to it, I would try to go. Let out your stress, and bond with the co-workers. If you still can't make it, I wouldn't fret over it too much. They sound like they may do another event sometime later.

That would all depend on if you had a strong desire to inflict pain on your work colleagues, splatting them in inappropriate places with little balls of paint. Though I think some of my previous work colleagues would have ended up in casualty had I been given the opportunity to shoot them, I'm sure you are a much nicer person than that! Surely you could go along and have some fun, why miss out on the frivolity?...
