Tom Cruise acted out because of the same reason everyone who makes fun of other people act out.

Either low self esteem, or trying so hard to look smart that you end up looking like an ****.

I think the media well over blew that. He didn't really want to attack Brooke at all. Really the media set him up for the fall if you think about it. Tom was on the news talking about all the problems of pharmaceuticals, and the fact that the U.S.A has abused and over medicated it's public all because it's a cash cow. The news interviewer brought up Brooke Shields new book which was about her beating depression with antibiotics of some sort. Tom was put on the spot and had to back up what he was saying because it's something he is truly concerned about. Truth is the media just run with a story that sells and make a big deal of all the small things after that and knock a guy down to eventually prop him back up. Covering celebrities is a boring business and hard to sell if it doesn't have drama and controversy. The media smells blood like a shark when they can send a guy up or down, it doesn't matter to them. There job is to sell the public a story that gets people talking. The sad part is, a lot of people buy into the over spun and biased storys that is the vicious celebrity news. Believe me I know. I live in L.A.

Brook Shields sufferred from post-natal depression and admitted it, as well as taking anti-depressants to help get over it. It's a hidden "illness" that many new mothers do not recognised or are afraids to admit, as everyone assumes that motherhood is natural. Tom Cruise brought this to the attention of the world media and branded her a "bad" mother, based on his religious beliefs of New Scientology. The wife of the studio head that has made most of Tom Cruise's films has come out in support of Brooke Shields and the studio head in supporting his wifes beliefs has drop Tom Cruise from films, but I also suspect that Tom Cruises failing fan support and film success has also helped that decision along.

Tom Cruise, or however you spell it is a Scientologist.

One of the core beliefs of Scientology is that psychiatry is evil, and that taking medication for depression and so on is very wrong.

Brook Shields had post-natal depression and took pills for it, which is why Tom Cruise had a go at her.

He should have minded his own business, stupid git, but anyway...

(sorry about the spelling, not sure about all those names)

Because Tom Cruise is the member of a lunatic fringe religious element who believe most likely that she should have asked the aliens they believe exist to help her with her depression rather than taking medication,he's a loopy idiot and he just got booted from his movie company because of it. Too bad he was a good actor but he freaks me out now'he's just weird.

She didnt do anything to provoke him..,she meerly stated that she was having post-partum depression and the little man decided to take a cheap shot.Tom Cruise is a very short very little man and its common for little men to belittle someone..,I guess it makes them feel more of a man?He has some deep rooted mental issues anyway.

It was all because She takes medicine for depression and his religion doesn't advocate using prescription drugs for depression. He was trying to judge what she needs and doesn't need when he's not a doctor. That's the whole ball of wax. Good Luck!

He was commanded to do it by L. Ron Hubbard's preserved floating brain - she dared to suggest that antidepressants be taken to help cope with post partum depression.

Because he is an arrogant, self righteous, judgmental, over indulged, over paid, over rated, ego maniac. When he falls, and he will, I hope it's a long drop from that pedestal he has put himself on.
