Yes... I was reading an article that over half domestic abuse starts when the woman gets pregnant... and in fact throughout prenatal care, both woman and man are assessed by the care teams. My friend had a second baby recently and her husband wasn't around much for the prenatal appts, and this was noted on her pregnancy notes, and when she queried, she was told about the domestic violence element.
I didn't know it was on the increase though, but this might be just because it's reported more these days than say 20 years ago when law enforcement and the court system were not sympathetic.
I don't know what the answer is for these type of men, tougher sentances for a start and more convictions would be a good start. I'm not one for counselling and therapy....I can't seem to find one good example of it working in this instance.
But lets also remember, its not just the men... domestic violence against men by women is also on the increase, but probably less reported by them.
Not all men (and women) settle an argument with their fists and feet though, so lets not pigeon hole them all.

i beleive children and babies do not increase domestic violence
domestic violence comes in many forms, physical and mental abuse. the mental abuse is hard to prove and there are bruises, etc.
no one can comment on domestic violence unless they have been in the situation themselves.
i suffered many years of mental abuse which turned into physical abuse. i found the strength and courage to walk away from a nice big house, sports car, £30k motor home, 2 foreign holidays a year, several weekends away! i realised that these were only materialistic items that he was providing to compensate for what was happening to me!
Of course, the domestic violence was all blamed on me and it takes a long time for you to realise it isnt you but them!
I dont think domestic violence is on the increase but there is more awareness about it now. And it doesnt just happen to women, men can be victims of domestic violence too.

I doubt those statistics are accurate. The definition of abuse has increased to include much more (verbal, and emotional), which are not the same as physical abuse.
Abuse is always bad. Physical violence is never an option, but we need to grow thicker skin. We are to quickly offended and easily victimized by our own personal weakness.

i dont think men are very good at handling stress, plus the amount of men that take drugs now is massive and drugs are a major problem in messing peoples heads up. peolpe who take them cant see what affect they have on them, and its the long term affects of them which are really concerning and causing a lot of violence these days.

Because women are giving up sex before marriage, men have sex with them and get them pregnant, marry them and not respect them. A perfect situation to lead to domestic violence. Love, respect and consideration are what makes marriages work...not sex before marriage, pregnancy out of wedlock and partners who know that their spouses have had sex with other people before them.

more women need to stand up and say no more violence, by saying and doing nothing, we are accepting the bad behaviour.
Can you imagine if all women went on strike, at work and in the home, all over the world.......... time would stand still and men would wake up and respect us all as equal.

stressed , feeling of burden . Having a baby can be hard on men too . If they are feeling up to beating their pregnant girlfriends they need to be locked up , where a big ole dude named Bubba can beat on them. Now getting a broom stick up ur bum , that is stress.

Women need to be kept under control, the odd beating does no harm at all.
As the old saying goes, you should beat dogs, women and walnut trees, and life will be wonderful
