Get this book;
Pricing and Ethical Guidelines by the graphic artist's guild. Two years ago when I was finishing my bachelors in design we all got that book and it's been very helpful in many ways.
If you are a beginning artist it may be more helpful for you to stay busy by accepting less than a professional while building your portfolio. As you get more clients slowly raise your prices. It is very important to let your current clients know that prices are subject to change over time. You can't have them quoting your prices to other people, you want them spreading news of your good work.

how experienced are you?
how much time allotted?
how many colors, type of paper?
any special printing needs? will you need special equipments?
will you need to hire outsiders ie: photographers, illustrators, etc?
find a book in your local library or book store in the art/design section. It deals with pricing your work. Normally can be found at Barnes and Noble.
normally $500 just for small logo...you can go on from that
