I have seen reusable nappies made from bamboo pulp. Do they work? Do they leak? Do they last as long as other types of reusables?

Good for you for being so eco thoughtful!!!

I have not heard of bamboo nappies so cannot advise, however I would recommend using shaped terry cloth nappies with overwraps. I tried lots of different cloth nappies before getting it right but found this combination best. I would also advise, if poss to buy your nappies 2nd/3rd hand - the older they are the more absorbant the cloth is.

Check out twinkleontheweb.co.uk for info on all different types of cloth nappies, you can buy here too, alternatively, you can get good cheap second hands on ukparents.net

Bamboo is a natural antibiotic. The bamboo is actually woven into a fabric which is then made into diapers. The fabric works like any other diaper fabric and they would only leak if the construction of the diaper was bad or if the diaper got full, just like any other diaper.

I have no idea about how long they last though.

My friend has put his baby in a reusable terys type of nappie, you put in a liner but then there are these rubber things that grip the nappie in place so work just like a real nappie, only thing is though there little girl does get a bit sore, cant beat pampers though!!
