I suggest that u'd better prepare a appropriate environment for learning chinese at first

first of all,we install the chinese input method :
open Control Panel,and Double Click on Regional and Language Options,then the Regional and Language Options will pop up,go to the Language,In the section Supplemental Language support,check the radio Install files for East Asian languages.Click ok ,and then the Operate System will install it.after that,In the same Tab(Languages),Click on Details button,then Text Service and input Languages window appears,in the section Installed services ,Click on Add button on the right panel, and Add Input language pops up,Click on Input language droplist,and find Chinese(PRC),Click on Keyboard layout/IME droplist and choose Chinese (Simplified)-Microsoft Pinyin IME.
Click on OK,and wait the installation completed

Secondly ,we open the notepad and try to input some chinese,we can

practice some words and sentences like:
1.a --> 啊
2.ni --> 你 -->you
3.hao --> 好 --> good
4.nihaoa --> 你好啊! -->hello!
5.zao --> 早 --> morning
6.shang --> 上 --> up
6.zaoshanghao --> 早上好! --> good morning!
